SIPERG member, Madelyn Mette, recently successfully defended her PhD. Her thesis was titled “Arctica islandica shell growth and geochemical records from northern Norway as North Atlantic marine climate proxies for the last millennium.” Maddie earned a PhD in Geology with a co-major in Environmental Science at Iowa State University under Dr. Alan Wanamaker. She will continue her career during an internship with the Association for the Sciences of Limnology and Oceanography in Washington D.C. follwed by a post-doc in Bergen, Norway.
