Early on Saturday morning, 5:30am, Captain Joakim ferried us to Havøysund to catch the Hurtigruten south to Tromsø. We hate leaving here but are excited to wrap up older projects and have collected material to pilot new ones. Claire was tasked with bringing home the sediment cores – soil permits in hand, hopefully everything goes smoothly! She will be working on these cores for her senior thesis at Bates. Sam took some of the heavier equipment. The shells will be shipped to the US and will probably beat us home.
We caught some surf on the ride to Havøysund.
The crew arrived to Tromsø.
The Hurtigruten is the most cost effective way to get to Ingøya, but not the quickest. Nobody is complaining!
